About Gary Wenkle Smith
Mr. Smith has been a part of San Bernardino since childhood. He attended high school at Pacific High School and spent his undergraduate years at California State University, San Bernardino. In 1975, Gary Wenkle Smith decided to dedicate his life to the pursuit of law and the protection of the innocent. He began law school in 1975 and graduated in 1978. He attended University of La Verne College of Law and was selected as Editor-in-Chief of Law Review, and published The Journal of Juvenile Law, which has since become the University of La Verne Law Review. Staying locally for his education cemented his commitment to our community. During law school, Mr. Smith clerked for an aggressive criminal defense firm in San Bernardino. He passed the bar examination soon after and began work as a sole practitioner. In addition to the American Bar Association, Gary Wenkle Smith is a member of the San Bernardino County Bar Association and the Riverside County Bar Association. Over the past thirty years, he has served hundreds of clients in their most important legal concerns. His commitment to San Bernardino is clear in his charitable work as well. He has served in the leadership of Cedar House Life Change Center, is a past member for the East Valley Second Chance, and has contributed to the Legal Aid Society of San Bernardino volunteer service. Most recently, he became a sponsor of Eat and Be Well, an event that will help to feed and support those in need during the Thanksgiving season.
